I have been wanting to start a urban clothes line?

Posted on November 21st, 2009 by admin in great urban places | 1 Comment »

How would I approach this. I want to find a place to get blank T-shirts straight from the manufacturer or something close to it. And how I would get noticed as a designer/creator, etc. If anyone who is in the buisness could help me out, that would be great…
Also, what would a good name be, my nickname is Slim J…

You can go to cafepress or threadless and get your designs published there. If you can make yourself famous from there, you can get your own website. Contact an oversea manufacture for large supply of blank shirts.

terrified bloodhound?

Posted on November 21st, 2009 by admin in urban place apartments | 7 Comments »

I got my 14 month old bloodhound when she was 6 mo. Up until that time she had been kept in a back yard and wasn’t really exposed to much. When I went to the house to get her (and see her for the first time) she came running up and was really friendly. I brought her from that place to my apartment (which is in a more urban area). Since then, she has been very timid. She’s afraid of trash bags on the sidewalk, people, signs, anything… When friends come over she barks and acts aggressive, but takes off running to hide. It’s just strange that the behavior changed so suddenly for no known reason (she’s never been abused that I know of).
Does anyone have any ideas of why she might have become so timid all of the sudden? Also, what can be done to solve the problem? I try taking her to Petsmart sometimes, but she’s so scared she has a bowel mvt or urinates inside the store.
I have had her in the same place for nearly 9 months. She should be used to her surroundings by now- but she only wants to hide out in the apartment.
She’s okay with other animals and loves to chase my cat. It’s just people and objects.
I take her to the fenced dog park sometimes. She’s okay with the dogs, but if a person tries to touch her, she runs away.

This behavior is not that unusual for this breed. More than one of them have exhibited it, and because yours was not socialized at a young age before you got her, it just exhibits more.

where is the best place in a more rural ontario to benefit my 10 year old son who has aspergers?

Posted on November 17th, 2009 by admin in rural and urban places | 2 Comments »

my son was diagnosed with aspergers 5 years ago, but I want to move my family out of the urban areas. He has a diagnosis of Autism on his phycological assessment.

First of all, ignore the post above. Chelation and oxygenation are for recent damage, usually caused by direct physical injury, and has only minor impact on recent biochemical injury… and note the word "recent." It has NOT been shown effective on Autism, and might do your son more harm than good. Even if it did help older injuries, the poster assumes your son’s Autism was triggered by immunization. One cannot just assume that… While the incidence of Autism increased because those with the predisposition to have it were more frequently triggered by the mercury in the immunizations, Autism has been around since the beginning of time.

It is very difficult to ensure specialized care for any major disorder in rural areas. You may need to visit urban areas regularly in order to find the best care, especially medical, for your son. I would like to suggest the following to help you get started. It is also important, once you get there, to find other parents dealing with Autism in their children, and learn from those already there.

I really thought about helping you out here, just because it would be fun to write. Then I looked at your profile and see that:

1. You answer other people’s questions so obviously without care and thought and apparently just for points so you can go ask more questions.

and

2. The people that are gracious enough to assist you or answer your questions most of the time don’t even recieve the courtesy of you selecting the "best answer" but they are instead selected by voters.

So instead I decide that if you are not interested in doing the right, then why in the world should anyone be interested in helping you?

Smart growth is the use of city planning to insure an environmental growth that maximizes the use of land and resources. It is a way to control urban sprawl; smart growth refers to an increase in the population of educated people. Smart growth draws new jobs, businesses and corporations, to the community. For example, places like medical centers, computer-manufacturing plants and major corporations. Smart growth ensures that there are positions available for professionals and skilled workers. Smart growth and development can expand a community the resources and opportunity to build and revitalize new resident, business, refurbish a main street, build new schools, and develop vibrant places to live, and safe playground for children. There are many different approaches to smart growth things such as apartments over shopping centers

Sounds good to me ,a few too many sentences either
starting w/ or containing "smart growth".
Try something like "it also ensures that….."
and "coupled with development it can……."

What makes some states more liberal and others more conservative?

Posted on November 15th, 2009 by admin in rural and urban places | 13 Comments »

What is it that makes a certain place conservative or Liberal, like Illinois tends to be liberal but Indiana tends to be conservative, like wise California tends to liberal but Arizona tends to be conservative.

What is it that makes this, is it the way people are brought up, peoples values, urban/rural? I mean between someone from Illinois and someone from Indiana I cant tell the difference. Yet the two states have different political views largely.

Culture. The rural states tend to be conservative because the people there are more self-reliant, stoic and austere.

States with a larger urban population are more socialist, not liberal. Socialists have fraudulently taken the label "liberal" when liberalism is actually antithetical to their policies; but they prefer that label to theirs. Most people today say, think, and believe whatever they like, regardless of any truth to it.

Jefferson futilely warned that bringing heavy industry here would bring hordes of people conditioned to taking direction and dependent on someone else for a wage. That’s what we have now and those are inclined to socialism.

Liberalism advocates: individual freedom, weak government, and free markets. Conservatism advocates: moral responsibility, strong government, and protected markets. Socialism advocates: social responsibility, omnipotent government, and controlled markets.

What would be your first impression of this girl?

I want you to say anything that you might think if you saw/met her (no matter how mean).
Brown hair in a short bob
Clothes from places like Abercrombie, Urban Outfitters and Wet Seal
Seemed somewhat ditzy/confused (but not overly) but is taking AP classes
Slim (5′ 2”, 88-90 pounds)
Sort of the "preppy type" but only had friends who were into the counter culture style with things like (depending on the person) piercings, hippie hair, goodwill clothes, hot topic clothes/accessories, etc.
I’m not asking if you would be friends with her…

Um………. like maybe she’s longing for something inside of her? love maybe…………

Dallas birthday restaurant ideas?

Posted on November 15th, 2009 by admin in great urban places | 4 Comments »

hey everyone,
I am wanting to go out to eat with a group of friends for my birthday (20) in downtown or uptown dallas. We want a place thats nice/upscale but still trendy- not a formal place yet still classy. No clubs etc Just a nice restaurant thats maybe ‘urban chic’. Could you help me come up with some great places?!

Thank you so much for your help!
thank you so much!- ill look into them :)

I would say Magic Time Machine. Its kinda pricey..but not to terribly bad. And big parties like that usually get ALOT of attention and its cool cuz the waiters dress up like characters and whatnot..and its a really fun enviroment :)
