Where to run in an urban area?

Posted on October 17th, 2009 by admin in an urban place | 3 Comments »

Hello, I live in a somewhat urban area where there are no natural trails to run in. Is there any advice for where to run? I can run in place but that is pretty boring, and I’m not sure if that is safe or not (for your bones). Any suggestions?

See if there are any green spaces around like parks, schools, golf courses etc. SOme times there are tracks by rivers.

I lived in London for a while and I had to take the tube to some green parks. Bit of a hassle though.

Running around your neighbourhood on the pavement is ok, but it is better on asphalt rather than concrete. Go exploring with your runs.

There may be other runners in clubs nearby who may be able to help, or even run with.
