Weather?
Equine rated?
Kind of people?
Places to go?
Rural or Urban place?
Schools? To bring up kids?

Your opinions?
I was thinking maybe Manhattan or Connecticut, but i have never been, so peoples opinions please?
Best answer.

Manhattan and Connecticut (in general) are very expensive places to live.

The further west you go tends to have better weather. Once you hit California, the cost of living goes up again, but California has probably the best overall weather in the US. The places with the highest cost of living are: San Francisco and New York City (in particular Manhattan, which is a "borough" of New York city).

The friendliest people, from my experience, are in the mid-west (Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, ….)

Schools are what you make of them. Parents who expect the school to do the whole job will be disappointed in the result.

Equine rated? Not sure what that means, but assuming it means you want to have a horse?

I am a non-Hispanic brown guy. In my entire life, there have been a disproportionate number of rude people from the Black ethnic group than from the White group. This is not tantamount to saying that every Black person I have met was rude. That’s not the case. But certainly, it is palpable to me that Blacks are more likely to be rude in public than are White people.

Of course, there are many great Black people I admire: the incumbent president, the first lady, Will Smith, Kerry Washington, Chris Tucker, Chris Rock, Eminem (lol), Morgan Freeman, and others. But this fails to translate into everyday experiences with many Blacks. And I am not saying Brown people are any better.

I live in one of the most urban places in North Carolina. In fact, the part of North Carolina I live in has the most number of PhDs on a per capita basis in the entire United States. And it is pretty integrated too. Here, every time I go to a Sams Club or Walgreens — literally every time — the cashier is usually Black, as do many of the staff; and they are very rude. Today, my dad and I went shopping and the Black cashier was very indifferent to us, as usual. When the cart was on the usual side, she asked us to bring it to her side in a very rude tone, because the water bottles were on the cart and she didn’t want to look at it from her usual place. I would have confronted her had I gone with my brother. But today I just ignored her and left.

It is an entirely different experience with White people. They are much more polite, even more than Brown people of my specific ethnic group. Interestingly, the city I live in is comprised 45% of Whites and 44% of Blacks (11% others). So anyway you look at my experiences — collectively or per capita — my observations still hold to some precision.

I have received, read, and considered your report. The accusation is found to be true by in its entirety by clear and convincing evidence. The accusation is sustained by the preponderance of evidence presented before me.

I’ll be going to college soon and i need to know which one of them is the best to live in…

New York because the shops are closer and i think its cheaper to buy homes in new york rather than California. Also i like big cities and places where it’s always busy so I’d pick NY some parts of NY there’s not loads of violence, but like u said violence is everywhere

if you read her auto-bio. is states that she started her business in the inner cities to keep the number of births of blacks down. Yes, its actually in the book. Why do you suppose the govt gave this non profit $63 million last year? Esp. when they say they are non-profit, and have 40 million as a overage from 2005? Why do liberals support then so strongly? Are people so ingnorant that they don’t realize what is going on? The say they offer parenting services and birth control… 99.2% of their Birth Control services last year were abortions, and .8% were adoptions. the fact that the clinics are mostly put in urban places would make me mad if I were a black person!!! Doesn’t anyone care?
By the why, I’m a white person, who lives in the suburbs. It inferiorates me that some people don’t want to believe what is going on in the world, and our big cities.

I personally wouldn’t care if she were the antichrist…Planned Parenthood is a good organization that has helped and is continuing the educate and provide services to our socicety.

So I maybe relocating to Philadelphia for a job and just wanted some honest input on the city. My boyfriend and I are in our early and mid 20s and love city life. We are moving from San Francisco and just wanted a bit of info; where are the nice urban places to live (we are no strangers to high rent, but still trying to keep it reasonable, 1200 a month at the most for a 1 bdrm)? Are there neighborhoods to avoid, etc.

And I know this is a random question, but is there good public transit there? SF has amazing public transit and I have become so reliant upon I just cant imagine not using it every day.

I have been living in PHiladelphia my entire life, in Center City in fact. Public Trans is fine (SEPTA)..people do not seem as friendly as the people on BART in San Fran! (i am a HUGE SAN FRAN FAN) anyway – philly can be cool..however, you are moving from san fran which is one of the coolest cities i have ever visited. I live in PRIME Location in center city in a one bedroom and i pay 975.00 a month – you can definitely get a great place for that amount! I just moved from a high end high rise on the 30th floor overlooking the entire city – and i paid 1500.00 per month. you will definitely find something..if i were you – i would craigslist photos of apts in Old CIty Philadelphia, Queen Village , Rittenhouse Square, Society Hill. These are definitely the places to be – walking distance from clubs/bars/shopping…I would avoid the Northeast section of Philadelphia..The places I listed are definitely the best places to live! Good Luck!!

i know there are people out there who love to go to say old Abondon mental Asylums for example say

Denbigh Asylum

and they go to these old run down urban places and take pictures for future use but to experiance for them selfs what it is like to take a glimps into the past now i love going new places and seeing old things like this im curious

how Legal is it because i know Urban Explorers don’t get permission and is it a good thing what these people do by taking pics for the future ?

It’s always best to get permission before entering a building. Not so much from the legal angle, although getting arrested for trespass, breaking and entering, etc. is something you must consider if you’re going to just wander into places.

I’m thinking more from a health & safety point of view. Many derelict buildings are in poor repair, and if you go in alone and have an accident, you could be there for a long time. Some of these places, especially industrial ones, may have areas which contain asbestos, chemicals, or other things that you’d probably rather not get covered in. And that’s not the only risk: I’ve seen a derelict building which had been occupied by squatters, and there were more than a few discarded hypodermic needles lying on the floor.

Places like the Denbigh Asylum are worth recording before they get demolished or redeveloped beyond all recognition, but I’m not sure that just climbing over the fence and walking around with your camera is the best way to do it.

If you’re going to insist on doing this kind of thing, at least make sure you don’t go alone, that you let someone know where you are, and that you take proper safety precautions – wear good solid boots or shoes, carry a torch and a charged mobile, and don’t monkey around with anything you find, especially if it looks rusty, damp, or stained
