Urban and Rural Blight

Many places in the Philippines show a roadside landscape of dilapidated buildings and billboards abandoned buildings enterprises, scarred field, junkyards and refuse depots.

At least 2 factors contribute conspicuously to landscape blight in both urban and rural areas. These are poverty on one hand and excessive economic exploitation on the other.

Whenever economic exploitation is geared toward maximum financial gain in the shortest period of time, considerable landscape blight can result, characterized by cheap construction, blatant advertising, and excessive land defoliation without returning used landscape to a more healthy state. Likewise, poverty conditions are characterized by overuse of landscape without the effort to maintain or to restore blighted landscape.

This is all I could find on the net about it.
