Being out on the street is dangerous. It's easy to romanticize it but really it is a wretched life. If you plan it well, you might be able to do it within a different framework. Live in a rural area, do as little in the way of structured employment as possible, build your own home with your hands and so on. There are not too many places in the world where I can imagine it working but I do know someone who moved to Belize to live more simply.
