What is the most rundown city?

I want to know what a run down place really looks like. It could be a urban area, a suburban neighboorhood, and a rural slum. High crime. Abandoned buildings. Population going down in decline. Boarded up stores and houses. I want to see a real ghetto. Do you know what is the worst city?

New Orleans

You need to tell everyone which Country you live in before they can answer you Question.
I Could tell you that Florence in Italy is pretty run down right now, or maybe Compton in California, USA or Athens in Greece.
What Country are you currently living in would be the first clue.

I would say East St Louis. Downtown too has a lot of boarded up buildings and burnouts, vacant lots, bad pavement, but right now New Orleans is looking pretty bad. I would love to see them rebuild that city.

Oakland has to be among the leaders. Poor blacks have taken over the city and it has turned in a ghetto-filled garbage dump now.

Cleveland, Ohio. The mistake by the Lake. Poorest city in the USA, population is serious decline, city has been in bankruptcy twice.

Detroit – agree with previous responder

Has not recovered from 1967 riots

Loses large part of population each year

No new grocery store in over 25 years

Cannot afford adequate police or firemen coverage

But has a fine looking mayor who knows how to party !!!
