Third was all Alice Cullen could ultimately achieve in a seven-furlong maiden at Wolverhampton on 23 April, but she might well have fared better had she not forfeited so much ground leaving the stalls. The Walter Swinburn-trained horse racing tip made eye-catching progress up the home straight, staying on so strongly that she was beaten only three lengths by Flighty Frances, and, as she is out of a mare by Spectrum, a longer trip seems sure to suit her. I think she may handle as far as ten furlongs.
Rae Guest’s three-year-old filly Indian Valley has the kind of form profile that puts off most punters, because, after her defeat in a maiden over an extended nine-furlongs at Wolverhampton on 24 April, her record reads three seconds in four starts. Guest’s charge is game enough, though, and has simply come up against better rivals, the latest being red-hot-favourite Bakongo. Indian Valley looks sure to notch a win soon and that cluster of twos next to her name is likely to ensure she starts at a fair price.
