I lived in NYC, upstate NY, San Diego and Phoenix.

Nothing beats NYC for the big city lights and the glitz. Los Angeles and Las Vegas are second place ties.

Overall though I would take LA or San Diego. Remember that in the winter time you won’t have to shovel sunshine.

With that being said, shouldn’t you actually be picking a college that will give you the best education in your area of interest? Why not let that criteria be the driver of selecting where you live? For example, if you wanted to be a vet, UC Davis would be a great college choice, but conversely if you wanted film making then UCLA would be great.

I don’t think you are going to get a real solid answer here on yahoo because you are using, "big cities and lights…fashion and nice cars," to figure out where to be educated at.

I would say San Diego, California if you don't like much violence. But if you are a city girl who loves broadways and loves to walk around and shop and site see, then New York is totally for you

New York because the shops are closer and i think its cheaper to buy homes in new york rather than California. Also i like big cities and places where it's always busy so I'd pick NY some parts of NY there's not loads of violence, but like u said violence is everywhere

States is hard to choose, they're different climates. But cities, I prefer NYC over LA, but also prefer San Francisco over New York. Then again, I love the access NYC has to New England and the quick bus ride to Washington DC. California on the other hand seems like the end of the world.
