What are the nicest places to live in the US based on these criteria?

-no suburbs, I’d prefer cute college towns
-beaches would be nice
-I lik cool urban places with hip people but I also like nature and good places to privately exercise outside
- good schools
- good shopping

I was thinking a cute mountain or beach town.

Any places come to mind? It doesn’t have to meet all criteria. Thanks!!

You might really want to consider Salt Lake City. I know most people jump right to "Isn’t that the place with all the Mormons?" But there is a lot more to it than that. It is a really cute city very close to the mountains and lots of outdoor activities all year. It is a college town, home to the University of Utah. There is quite the nightlife, and tons to do pretty much any time. It is very urban, but still keeps a certain small-town charm. There is lots of shopping, everything from department stores to small boutiques.

Plus, the people tend to be quite warm and friendly.

You might try "Places Rated" at your bookstore/library or, I believe they have a website.
