How to throw successful housewarming party is a tiny apartment?

We’d like to have an affordable housewarming/reunion party with our old college friends (age 24-27 y.o). The tricky part is our one-bedroom apartment is only 520 sq total! The living room is only 10′x12′. No porch or outside area (typical urban apartment). I wanted to invite less people, but my husband sent out invitation for 29 people! Because he calculated there will be people unable to attend (but I also calculated in my mind that those who attend might bring a plus one).

The question is:
1) Should we utilize our bedroom for another place to mingle?
2) Other suggestions to maximize the place?

yes, use your bedroom. otherwise is going to be very crowded.
