What’s be most wonderful place you can think of to spend a month?

My fiance and I have been so busy we’ve taken forever to finally get married…now our honeymoon is just around the corner and we’re doing what we’ve always promised each other we would – we are taking a whole "moon"!

The only questions is, where to go?

Thoughts?

PS- It could be urban or rural, but we really want to have a less "commercial" kind of experience (so we were thinking wherever we picked, maybe we’d sublet a house/apartment for a while). Also, it doesn’t need to be dirt cheap, but it can’t be absurdly expensive either…

Thoughts?

:-)

My favourite place is Port Douglas in Australia. You’ve got warm weather, the rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef- lovely!

Or why not rent an apartment on the north-western coast of Italy- it is really beautiful there. Italian food, beautiful beaches, lovely villages and much less touristy than the main cities of Florence, Rome or Venice.

If you want to stay within the US, what about renting a house in a small town on the north-east coast? Or somewhere like San Francisco?

Canada could also be an option.

Why don’t you drive coast to coast? Take the north route from San Fransisco to New York, then drive down the east coast, and drive from the Carolinas across to San Diego??

If you spend part of your honeymoon in Florida you can take a short 2 day cruise to the Bahamas on Imperial Majesty. You spend a few hrs in the Bahamas but time spent on the ship there and back is pretty good. Plus its not expensive. It normally leaves FL at 5 p.m. arrives in the Bahamas the following day at 9 a.m. departs the Bahamas at 5:30 that evening and arrives in FL the next morning. Normally there are lots of activities to do on the ship. Check out the site for more details.

Maybe break it up and stay at a few places. Then you can do different things in each area that you are in. You have been together for a while so you don’t need honeymoon suit ,and will be shut up in there for entire week. If you are like us, we like to "do" things together. Adventure! That was fun! Pack lite and purchase things as you go .We had a blast! Good Luck!

Montreal, Quebec. You have got to love the french influence and it’s not as expensive as being in Paris.

I would spend a month in Paris. For me 10 days in 2006 was not enough. There is so much to do there! You can rent apartments for a reasonable price, just Google it.
