Remember the roman baths…? What do you think of urban baths in our contemporary cities…?

like a place to take a shower after jogging during lunch breaks…?
What do you think…? Have any ideas…?

Yuck – A perfect opportunity to have sexual harassment and abuse.

This is what gyms are for… Some people join a gym and use it in the middle of the day just as you are saying – but the gyms are safer and monitored. people must be members in order to use the facilities.

I think that would be a biological nightmare! It would be a free incubator for the spread of disease, etc.

They have those in Japan, they’re actually pretty nice. I don’t think there’s much risk of disease because they keep the place pretty spotless and the shared bath water is fairly hot, and people only go in the bath after they’ve washed themselves so as not to dirty the water. The Japanese are also pretty sanitary as a rule

That being said, there are many "bath houses" in San Fransisco, but they’re not used all that much for bathing …

I used to live in NYC – I don’t know if the public bathhouse on St. Mark’s Place is still open – back then it was.

It was clean, well-run and very well attended.

I enjoyed the oak leaf massage.

I never got sick – not even athlete’s foot.

I imagine like everything else, if the facility is well-run and the management is accountable, the idea works well – if not – as some other folks have said – YUCK!
